ADEBIMPE (Episode 23)

Adewale’s POV

The palace courtyard was full.

Chiefs. Elders. Guards. Servants. Everyone.

I stood beside my father, the crown heavy on my head not because of its weight, but because of what I was about to do. I searched the crowd until I found her.

Adebimpe.

She stood quietly, unaware that her life was about to change in front of the entire kingdom.

I stepped forward.

“People of this kingdom,” I began, my voice echoing across the courtyard. “Today, I speak not only as your prince, but as a man who has found the woman his heart cannot live without.”

Murmurs rose immediately.

I lifted my hand for silence.

“Adebimpe,” I said, calling her name clearly, boldly. “Step forward.”

She froze.

I watched fear flash across her face before courage pushed her feet forward.

“There are traditions,” I continued. “And there is destiny. I have chosen to honor both.”

I turned to face her fully.

“Before you all, I declare Adebimpe as my future bride.”

The palace exploded in whispers.

But I did not look away from her.

“From this day forward,” I said, “she is no longer a palace maid. She is under royal protection and will be prepared as the woman who will stand beside me as queen.”

Adebimpe’s POV

My ears rang.

Future bride?

My knees almost gave way.

I felt every eye on me some shocked, some angry, some curious. I wanted to disappear… yet something inside me stood tall.

The Queen stepped forward and placed her shawl over my shoulders.

“Hold your head high,” she whispered. “You belong here.”

Tears burned my eyes as I looked at Prince Adewale. No my prince.
