ADEBIMPE (Episode 22)
Adebimpe’s POV
My hands trembled as I followed the palace guard down the long corridor. Every step felt heavier than the last.
The King and Queen…
I had served in this palace for years, yet I had never stood before them like this not as a worker, but as the woman their son wished to marry.
When the great doors opened, my heart nearly jumped out of my chest.
I dropped to my knees immediately.
“Your Majesty,” I said softly, my forehead touching the floor. “Your Highness.”
The silence that followed scared me more than words ever could.
The Queen’s POV
I watched her closely.
She did not walk in with pride or fear disguised as arrogance. She bowed low, her voice gentle, her respect sincere.
This girl is different, I thought.
“Rise, my child,” I said kindly.
When she stood, I noticed her eyes clear, honest, unpretentious. She did not look around the palace in wonder. She looked straight ahead, steady but humble.
“What is your name?” the King asked.
Adebimpe’s POV
“Adebimpe, Your Majesty,” I replied. “Daughter of ordinary people, raised with fear of God and respect for elders.”
My voice shook, but I did not lie.
“I know I am not worthy of standing here,” I added quickly, “but I am grateful for the chance to speak before you.”
The King’s POV
I studied her carefully.
No rehearsed speech. No desperate ambition. No attempt to impress.
Just truth.
“Tell me, Adebimpe,” I said, “do you know why you have been summoned?”
“Yes, Your Majesty,” she answered. “Because Prince Adewale wishes to marry me.”
The hall seemed to tighten at her honesty
“And what do you want?” I asked.
Adebimpe’s POV
I swallowed hard.
“I want to love your son with loyalty and respect,” I said. “I want to honor this palace, not bring it shame. If at any point you believe I am not fit, I will step away quietly.”
I felt tears sting my eyes. “I will never force myself where I am not welcomed.”
The Queen’s POV
My heart softened completely.
I stepped down from my seat and held her hands. They were warm… hardworking hands.
“You speak with wisdom,” I said softly. “A woman who knows when to step back is a woman who knows her worth.”
I turned to the King. “This is not a girl chasing a crown. This is a woman chosen by destiny.”
The King’s POV
I nodded slowly.
“Character,” I said, “outlives royalty.”
I looked at Adebimpe. “You will not be judged by your past, but by your heart. And your heart has spoken clearly.”
I raised my voice slightly. “From this moment, you are under the protection of the royal household.”
Her eyes widened in shock.
Adebimpe’s POV
Tears streamed down my face.
“Thank you, Your Majesty. Thank you, Your Highness,” I whispered, bowing again.
The Queen smiled warmly. “Welcome, my daughter.”
In that moment, fear melted away.
I realized something powerful
I was not just accepted.
I was chosen.
