ADEBIMPE (Episode 21)
Adewale’s POV
I watched her from a distance as she worked, the afternoon sun slipping through the palace windows and resting gently on her skin. Adebimpe never knew how easily she owned my thoughts. Even in silence, she spoke to my heart.
I called her name softly.
“Adebimpe.”
She turned immediately, startled. “Yes, my prince?”
I hated that title in that moment. I wanted her to see me, not the crown.
“Walk with me,” I said.
We moved to a quiet corner of the palace garden where the air smelled of flowers and peace. I stopped and faced her. My chest felt tight, but my mind was clear.
“Adebimpe,” I began, “what I am about to tell you may shock you… but it is the truth of my heart.”
Her eyes widened, her fingers tightening around each other.
“I like you,” I said. “Not as a prince admiring a servant. As a man who has found the woman his soul recognizes.”
Her breath caught.
“I have watched your humility, your strength, the way you carry kindness even when no one notices. And somewhere along the way… I fell in love with you.”
I stepped closer, careful not to touch her, respecting the space between our worlds.
“There is more,” I added quietly. “I have already spoken to my parents the King and the Queen. I told them about you. I told them I want to marry you...
Adebimpe’s POV
My heart stopped.
Marry… me?
For a moment, I thought I had misheard him. My ears rang, my legs trembled, and fear rushed in before joy could find its way.
“My prince,” I whispered, my voice shaking, “this is not something you say lightly. I am only a palace worker. People will laugh. They will blame me. They will say I used charms on you.”
I lowered my head, tears threatening to fall.
“I respect you too much to allow you ruin your future because of me.”
But he lifted my chin gently not touching, just close enough to make me feel seen.
Adewale’s POV
“Look at me,” I said softly.
She did.
“I did not choose you because of where you stand,” I told her. “I chose you because of who you are.”
I paused, letting my words sink deep.
“My parents did not chase me away. They listened. They asked to meet you.”
Her eyes filled with tears.
“I will protect you,” I promised. “From gossip. From shame. From fear. You will never stand alone not while I breathe.”
Adebimpe’s POV
Tears fell freely now.
No man had ever spoken to me like that. No one had ever chosen me so boldly.
“I am afraid,” I confessed. “But… my heart feels safe with you.”
I took a deep breath.
“If you are ready to stand with me in front of the whole world… then I will stand with you too.”
A smile broke across his face, gentle and victorious.
Adewale’s POV
I smiled because I knew in that moment this was not just love.
This is fate....
“Then it is settled,” I said. “You are no longer just Adebimpe the palace worker.”
I leaned closer, my voice a whisper meant only for her.
“You are the woman I will make my wife.”
