Love Found Me When I Wasn’t Looking (Episode 30)
Victoria’s POV
I woke up that morning feeling unusually calm.
No fear.
No confusion.
Just a strange, steady peace.
I reached for my phone lazily and froze.
...₦50,000,000.00 CREDIT ALERT....
For a moment, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. I blinked. Checked again. It was still there.
My hands began to shake.
Daniel’s father had done it. Before he left yesterday, he had asked gently for my account number. I didn’t even think he meant *immediately*. But there it was—fifty million naira sitting quietly in my account, like a declaration.
I sat up slowly on the bed, my heart pounding.
At that moment, I made a decision.
I would stop teaching.
Not because teaching wasn’t good enough—but because my life was clearly stepping into a new season. A season I never planned, but one that had chosen me anyway.
My mum came into my room later and saw my face.
“You’ve seen the alert,” she said softly.
I nodded.
She smiled, touched my head gently. “Destiny doesn’t knock twice.”
Around noon, Daniel called.
“I’m coming to pick you by 1:00,” he said, excitement barely contained in his voice. “I want to show you my place.”
By the time he arrived, my heart was already racing.
Daniel’s POV
I barely slept the night before.
My house had never seen this kind of activity so early in the morning. I personally supervised everything the flowers, the candles, the soft music, even the scent in the air. I wanted everything perfect.
Today, I was going to propose to Victoria.
I stood in the middle of my living room, adjusting a frame on the wall, smiling to myself like a fool.
*I can’t wait for her to be mine.*
By 1:00 p.m. sharp, I was outside her mum’s house. When Victoria stepped out, my breath caught.
She was simple, elegant, radiant.
God… she was beautiful.
“Ready?” I asked.
She smiled. “More than ready.”
Victoria’s POV
The drive to Daniel’s place felt unreal. Abuja looked different brighter, calmer. I couldn’t stop smiling.
When we arrived, I noticed immediately how quiet and beautiful the compound was.
“Daniel… this place is lovely,” I said honestly.
He just smiled and opened the door.
The moment I stepped inside, I froze.
The room was glowing soft lights, flowers everywhere, candles flickering gently. My heart skipped violently.
“What is all this?” I whispered.
Daniel closed the door behind us.
“Victoria,” he said softly, “come.”
He led me to the center of the room. Music played quietly in the background. I suddenly felt emotional, my eyes already burning.
He took my hands.
Daniel’s POV
I looked at her really looked at her.
This woman had walked into my life quietly and turned everything upside down in the most beautiful way.
“Victoria,” I began, my voice shaking despite all the practice, “I didn’t plan to fall in love. I didn’t even believe in destiny like this.”
She was already crying.
“But you changed everything,” I continued. “You are my peace, my courage, my home.”
I reached into my pocket and dropped to one knee.
“Victoria,” I said, my heart pounding, “will you marry me?”
For a second, time stopped.
Victoria’s POV
I covered my mouth with my hands.
Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably.
All the fear.
All the pressure.
All the confusion.
Gone.
“Yes,” I cried. “Yes, Daniel! I will marry you!”
He stood up immediately and pulled me into his arms. I laughed and cried at the same time, my whole body shaking with happiness.
He slipped the ring onto my finger, and it fit perfectly like it had always been meant for me.
“I love you,” he whispered.
“I love you more,” I replied, holding him tightly.
At that moment, nothing else mattered not promises, not money, not expectations.
just us.
