Love Found Me When I Wasn’t Looking (Episode 29)

Victoria’s POV

Everything happened so fast, yet so slowly at the same time.

The moment Daniel’s father looked from Daniel… to me… and then back again, his face drained of color.

“You… you know each other?” he asked, his voice heavy with shock.

I couldn’t speak. My legs felt weak, my mouth dry. Even my mother stood frozen, her eyes moving between us like she was trying to understand a puzzle that suddenly rearranged itself.

Before anyone could say anything else, Daniel walked toward me.

He didn’t hesitate.

He pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly.

For a second, I didn’t even react. I was still in shock my body stiff, my mind struggling to catch up with reality. But then I felt his heartbeat, fast and real, and I knew this was not a dream.

I was here.
He was here.
And destiny had finally stopped hiding.

“Daddy,” Daniel said calmly but firmly, releasing me slightly, “Victoria is the lady I’ve been dating.”

The room went silent.

My mother gasped softly and sat down immediately. Daniel’s father lowered himself slowly into a chair, like his strength had suddenly left him.

“You mean…” my mother whispered, looking at me, “this is the Daniel?”

I nodded, tears filling my eyes.

“Yes, Mum.”

Even as we moved to the dining table to eat, the shock didn’t leave us. The food was there, but my appetite was gone. I could feel everyone watching us trying to make sense of what had just unfolded.

Daniel sat beside me. Our fingers brushed under the table, and that small touch alone calmed me.

As we ate, the atmosphere slowly changed—from confusion… to realization… to something deeper.

“This…” Daniel’s father finally said, clearing his throat, “this can only be fate.”

Then he began to speak.

He told us everything.

He spoke about Victoria’s father—about the kindness that saved him when life almost broke him. He spoke about the promise they made years ago, how they agreed that if one had a son and the other a daughter, they would marry.

My heart pounded as I listened.

So this love…
This pull…
This connection…

It didn’t start when Daniel and I met.

It started long before we were born.

My mother covered her mouth with her hand, tears sliding down her face.
“So the promise was real,” she whispered.

Daniel’s father nodded. “Very real.”

I felt overwhelmed. My chest was tight with emotion, yet my heart felt so full it could burst. I looked at Daniel, and he was staring at me with the same disbelief and joy mirrored in his eyes.

*This is fate.*
*This is destiny.*

I had never been so sure of anything in my life.

For the first time since all this began, happiness washed over me without fear. I was the happiest woman on earth at that moment.

After a while, Daniel’s father cleared his throat again.

“There is only one concern,” he said, looking directly at me.

My heart skipped.

“Victoria… you are a teacher.”

The words landed heavily.

My smile faded slightly, but I sat up straight, ready to defend myself if needed.

“I worked hard for my education,” I said softly. “I love teaching.”

He nodded slowly. “I know. And I respect that. But my son’s wife will need something… bigger. Something more.”

I held my breath.

“I will give Victoria fifty million,” he continued, “to start a better business. Something that will place her on a higher level.”

My mother gasped. I felt dizzy.

Fifty million.

I looked at Daniel immediately. He frowned slightly, clearly uncomfortable.

“Daddy  he started.

But his father raised a hand. “It is not charity. It is preparation.”

I didn’t know how to feel. Gratitude. Shock. Fear. Confusion. All at once.

“I… I need time,” I said honestly. “Teaching is part of who I am.”

Daniel squeezed my hand gently. “Whatever you decide,” he said, “I’m with you.”

That was all I needed to hear.

As the evening went on, laughter slowly replaced tension. Stories were shared. Smiles returned. Even my mother relaxed, her eyes shining with relief and joy.

That night, as I lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, one truth echoed loudly in my heart:

We tried to fight it.

Our parents tried to control it.
But destiny had already decided

And this time…
Destiny won.

When Daniel left with his father that evening we continue our happy chat on video call and that night I slept happily and peacefully
