Mass Abductees Freed in Zamfara as Woman Gives Birth Moments After Rescue

In a dramatic turn of events in Zamfara State, a group of abductees was rescued in Dan Jibga, Tsafe Local Government Area, including a woman who gave birth shortly after regaining her freedom.

SaharaReporters gathered that the rescued victims, many in critical condition, were immediately taken to a hospital by the Chairman of Tsafe LGA and a team of security personnel for urgent medical care. Some were too weak to stand, while others showed severe signs of hunger, trauma, and exhaustion after enduring weeks in captivity.

Eyewitnesses reported that the woman had survived her pregnancy under harsh, inhumane conditions while abducted and delivered her baby only after being rescued. Both mother and child are receiving intensive care.

The rescue highlights the worsening insecurity in Tsafe, one of Zamfara’s most violent areas, where persistent bandit attacks have displaced thousands, destroyed homes, and terrorized communities. Residents continue to live in fear as attacks remain frequent and brutal.
