President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the renaming of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare, Bauchi State, in honour of late renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi. The announcement was made during Tinubu’s condolence visit to Bauchi, where he described the cleric as a symbol of integrity, unity, and moral guidance whose influence transcended religion and region. The president said the decision recognises Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s lifelong devotion to God, humanity, and national cohesion, adding that the institution will preserve his legacy for future generations. Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed and other top officials welcomed the move, describing it as a historic honour and a fitting tribute to the late scholar’s contributions to education and national development.
