Ohanaeze to Tinubu: Grant Amnesty to 1,335 Repentant Pro-Biafra Agitators Ahead of June 12
In a significant peace gesture ahead of June 12 Democracy Day, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider granting amnesty to 1,335 repentant and nonviolent pro-Biafra agitators.
The group emphasized that such a move would symbolize national reconciliation, deepen unity, and support healing in the Southeast. According to Ohanaeze, these individuals have renounced militancy and deserve a second chance through reintegration and rehabilitation.
Their appeal aligns with the spirit of Democracy Day, promoting inclusiveness, dialogue, and lasting peace in Nigeria.
