A well-known commercial bus driver, Muihili Adebayo, has been abducted by gunmen in Owo, Ondo State, during an attack that resulted in the tragic death of his son and the injury of his wife.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at Adebayo’s home in the Shagari area of Owo, located within the Owo Local Government Area. According to a neighbor who spoke to our correspondent on Thursday, Adebayo’s wife was shot while attempting to resist the kidnappers. In the process, one of their children was killed during the struggle.
The eyewitness also mentioned that Adebayo’s wife is currently receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital, though their son was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
A family member, who requested to remain anonymous, confirmed that the kidnappers have since made contact, demanding a ransom of ₦20 million for Adebayo’s release.
Funmilayo Odunlami, the Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, confirmed the incident. She assured that the command’s tactical squads are actively working to secure Adebayo’s safe release.
