The medical evacuation of 18 patients to countries including Norway, Malta, Luxembourg, and Romania was facilitated via the Kerem Shalom crossing, with 29 companions accompanying them.

Since the Rafah crossing was closed on March 18, daily medical evacuations have been suspended, leaving far too few patients able to leave Gaza to receive the urgent care they critically need.

Between 10,500 and 12,500 patients in Gaza are still awaiting medical evacuation.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is urgently calling for the immediate resumption of medical evacuations through all possible routes, including the restoration of medical referrals to the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
