The Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare in Anambra State, Ify Obinabo, has raised alarm over a disturbing case involving an 18-year-old apprentice who has allegedly impregnated at least 10 girls within just five months.

Obinabo made the revelation during a live social media broadcast on Wednesday, describing the situation as “overwhelming and deeply troubling.”

Teen Apprentice Impregnates Master’s Daughter, Salesgirl

According to the Commissioner, the teenage boy—whose name has been withheld—was enrolled in an apprenticeship program under a business master. Shockingly, within his first three months, he allegedly impregnated both the master’s daughter and the salesgirl, leading to his immediate dismissal.

“This boy was sent to learn a trade at the age of 18. Just three months in, he got his master’s daughter and salesgirl pregnant. He was sent packing,” Obinabo stated.

More Pregnancies After Returning to Village

Following his dismissal, the teenager reportedly returned to his village, where the situation escalated. Within just two additional months, he allegedly impregnated eight more girls, bringing the total to 10 pregnancies in under five months.

“I want advice from the public because this one is beyond my capacity,” Obinabo pleaded. “Two months after that, he impregnated eight other girls in the village.”

Mother Cries Out for Help

The teen’s mother, according to Obinabo, visited her office in tears, saying the situation had become unmanageable.

“Anytime I see a girl coming toward our house nowadays, my heart jumps. Please, I need help,” the mother was quoted as saying.

Spiritual or Psychological?

Visibly shaken, Commissioner Obinabo questioned whether the boy’s actions could have a spiritual or psychological cause.

“This matter is beyond me. That’s why I’m calling on the public—could this be spiritual?”

When asked how he was able to lure so many girls, the boy reportedly said he simply tells them he “loves them and plans to marry them when he becomes rich.”

Obinabo concluded her address by reiterating her call for public intervention and expert advice, stating that the case is unlike anything she has encountered in her tenure.
