Leadership expert and author Sam Adeyemi has said that certain individuals are profiting from the widespread hardship faced by most Nigerians.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise programme on Saturday, Adeyemi explained that the country’s challenges persist partly because some people benefit from the status quo and therefore have no interest in seeing change.
He dismissed the notion that religion is to blame for Nigeria’s problems, pointing out that nations where major religions originated are largely developed.
“The reason these issues aren't being treated as a national emergency is because it works in favour of some people for things to remain the way they are,” he said.
