Police Arrest Alleged Serial Rapist of TASUED Female Students in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 33-year-old suspect, Olayemi Shedrack, wanted for the robbery and rape of female students at Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED).

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 33-year-old Olayemi Shedrack, who has been on the wanted list for allegedly raping several female students of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) in Ijagun after robbing them of valuables.

According to a statement by the Command's Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, the suspect was apprehended in Ijagun after trying to blend in with a crowd. His capture was made possible through valuable information provided by the public.

"Acting on a tip-off, Olayemi Shedrack was spotted attempting to blend with the crowd in Ijagun, but his identity was confirmed through intelligence sources. He was swiftly arrested," Odutola confirmed.

Shedrack had been on the run following his involvement in an armed robbery and rape incident on July 21, 2024. Along with his accomplices, he forcefully entered the Royal Villa accommodation for female students at TASUED, where they stole valuables including laptops, iPhones, sports watches, and cash, and also sexually assaulted the students before escaping.
