The University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) has sacked a Locum Radiographer due to negligence, resulting in the death of a patient.

The radiographer, whose name was withheld, took the key to the Accident and Emergency x-ray room, causing a delay in treatment. The colleague who took over failed to contact the radiographer, leading to the patient's demise.

The hospital management terminated the radiographer's appointment, effective immediately, and took disciplinary action against those involved.

The termination letter stated, "Your services as a Locum Radiographer are no longer required... Your appointment is hereby terminated with immediate effect. "UCTH Sacks Radiographer Over Negligence".
