Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda has declared that his administration will not negotiate with criminal elements in the state. Speaking during a meeting with Major General Ibikunle Ademola Ajose, General Officer Commanding 8 Division and Commander of Joint Task Force Northwest Operation, Radda emphasized that while peace is possible, any negotiations with bandits would only occur under strict conditions.

Radda highlighted that the state's commitment to security includes forming a stakeholder engagement committee to foster community involvement in peace-building. He reaffirmed the state’s investment in security infrastructure and its continued support for operational effectiveness, including logistical support for the armed forces.

The governor also assured that those who genuinely repent and seek to rebuild their lives would receive support from his government for reintegration and livelihood management.

In his address, Major General Ajose confirmed that the Nigerian Army does not engage in negotiations with criminals, adding that Operation Safe Northwest aims to improve community mobilization and enhance security efforts in the region.
