Afrobeats star Innocent "2baba" Idibia has revealed that he and his wife, Annie Idibia, have been living separately for some time and have filed for divorce.

In a video shared on his Instagram on Sunday, 2baba made the unexpected announcement, saying: "Hello to my beautiful people. This is a short yet long message. Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while now, and we have filed for divorce."

He further added that he would soon release a statement to clarify his position and address any misconceptions, stating, "I’ll grant a press release soon to share my story—not because it's anyone’s business, but because I care for my people and want them to know the truth about my innocence or wrongdoing. Stay blessed, I love you all."

Following the post, a new message on his Instagram claimed his account had been hacked, with 2baba stating that efforts were being made to regain control of it. "My Instagram account has been hacked, and we’re working to take it back. #onelove!"

However, in an unexpected turn, another post appeared shortly after, clarifying that the earlier message was indeed true. "Hey, my people, nobody hacked my account. I said what I said. I come in peace."

2baba and Annie have been together since 2008, welcoming their first child, Isabella, that year. He proposed on Valentine’s Day in 2012, and they had a private wedding later that same year, followed by a white wedding in Dubai in 2013. They also have a second child, Olivia, born in 2014.
