Femi Otedola
Olufemi Peter Otedola, commonly known as Femi Otedola, was born on 4 November 1962 in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria to Sir Michael Otedola, a former Governor of Lagos State, and Lady Doja.
He grew up in a prominent Nigerian family and early on developed a keen interest in business. Although he struggled academically repeating classes and not completing advanced formal education he credits real-world business experience as his true education.
Otedola started his career in the family business before branching out on his own. He founded several major companies, including:
Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd a leading oil and gas marketing company.
Seaforce Shipping Company Ltd a major shipping business in Nigeria.
Chairman of Forte Oil PLC (now Ardova PLC) a major Nigerian energy company (from which he later divested).
Executive Chairman of Geregu Power PLC a large power generation company in Nigeria.
He also holds significant investments in banking (including shares in FBN Holdings and Zenith Bank), real estate, and other sectors. Otedola owns properties in Lagos, Dubai, London, and Monaco.
As of recent estimates, his net worth is around $1.5–$1.7 billion making him one of Nigeria’s wealthiest business leaders.
Personal Life
Femi Otedola is married to Nana Otedola, and they have four children, including popular figures like Florence “DJ Cuppy” Otedola and Temi Otedola.
He is also known for his philanthropic work, contributing to educational scholarships, healthcare, and other social causes across Nigeria.
