ADEBIMPE (Episode 20)

Prince Adewale stood before the throne, his hands clasped behind him, his back straight, yet his heart was anything but calm. The palace felt unusually silent that morning, as though the walls themselves were waiting to hear his truth.

The King sat tall, authority resting easily on his shoulders. Beside him, the Queen watched her son closely, a mother’s eyes sharp enough to sense when something was different.

“Father. Mother,” Adewale began, his voice steady but sincere. “I have something important to say.”

The King raised an eyebrow. “Go on, my son.”

Adewale took a slow breath. “There is a woman in this palace… her name is Adebimpe.”

The Queen’s eyes softened instantly, though she said nothing.

“She came into this palace as a simple worker,” Adewale continued, “but I have seen her character. Her humility. Her kindness. Her strength. She carries herself with grace even when no one is watching.”

The King leaned forward slightly. “And what of her?”

Adewale lifted his head, meeting his father’s gaze without fear. “I like her. Deeply. And not just as a passing feeling. I want to marry her.”

The words hung in the air like a sudden storm.

The Queen inhaled sharply. “A palace worker?” she asked gently, not in anger, but in surprise.

The King remained silent for a long moment. His eyes studied his son, searching for doubt, for weakness. But he found none.

“You understand what you are asking,” the King finally said. “A union like this will challenge tradition. The council will resist. The elders will question your judgment.”

“I understand,” Adewale said firmly. “But I would rather fight for the woman I love than sit on a throne filled with regret.”

The Queen stood and walked toward her son. She placed a hand on his shoulder. “Love is not a small thing,” she said softly. “If your heart is truly settled, then this is not rebellion it is destiny.”

The King exhaled slowly. “Very well,” he said at last. “Bring her before us when the time is right. Let us see the woman who has captured the heart of a prince.”

Adewale bowed deeply, relief washing over him like rain after drought.

“Thank you, Father. Thank you, Mother.”

As he turned to leave, his heart raced not with fear, but with hope. Adebimpe had no idea yet… but her life was about to change forever....... continue reading Episode 21
