Nigerian Troops Nab Three ISWAP Recruitment Agents in Borno, Foil Terror Plot
In a major intelligence-led operation, Nigerian troops of Operation Hadin Kai arrested three suspected ISWAP recruitment agents in Banki, Borno State. The suspects—Gajibo Kayama (23), Tahiru Modu (22), and Bulama Modu (24)—allegedly tried to recruit youths aged 17–20 for terrorist training in Adamawa State.
Security sources revealed that the trio were former ISWAP members who claimed to have renounced the group five years ago but were reportedly re-engaging in recruitment activities. The suspects were intercepted following a tip-off from a vigilant community leader.
The arrested individuals have been handed over to the Military Intelligence Regiment for further interrogation and necessary action. This arrest underscores the ongoing efforts of Nigerian security forces to disrupt terrorist networks and protect vulnerable communities in the Northeast.
