Pastor Giwa Slams Nigeria’s Democracy: “No Difference Between Military and Civilian Rule”

The Senior Pastor of The Second Coming of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has strongly criticized Nigeria’s democratic journey, declaring that after 26 years of civilian rule, there’s no clear distinction between democracy and military dictatorship.

Speaking on Friday, Pastor Giwa lamented that those who once championed democracy have now become “enemies of the people”, enabling corruption and the looting of the nation’s resources.

“The so-called proponents of democracy have betrayed the people. They fought for power, not progress,” Giwa stated.

His comments add to the growing chorus of voices questioning the integrity and impact of Nigeria’s democratic leadership amid rising hardship and insecurity.
