Former Liverpool Striker Andy Carroll to Appear in Court Over Alleged Breach of Non-Molestation Order
Former Liverpool, Newcastle United and England striker Andy Carroll is set to be arraigned at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court over allegations that he breached a non-molestation order. The 36-year-old footballer, who currently plays for National League South club Dagenham and Redbridge, was arrested in April in connection with the alleged offence, which police say occurred in March.
Essex Police confirmed that Carroll, of Epping, has been formally charged and is due to appear in court on December 30. Carroll, who earned nine caps for England and joined Liverpool in 2011 for a then club-record £35 million, has not publicly commented on the charge.
A non-molestation order is a court injunction that restricts contact with another person and may also bar an individual from approaching certain locations, including homes or workplaces.
