Fubara to Wike: It's Time to Let Rivers Go—You Can't Win Every Battle

we explore the growing political tension between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has called on his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, to release any lingering influence over Rivers State and allow peace to prevail in the oil-rich region.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Fubara emphasized that all Nigerians are aware he had no involvement in the destruction of local government secretariats across the state.

Despite resistance from Wike's allies in both the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Fubara said he stands by his decision to conduct the recent local government elections in the state.

"I have the courage to take these actions," the governor stated, urging Wike to let go of any perceived control over the South-South state.
