A Turkish vessel arrived at Egypt’s El-Arish port on Wednesday, delivering the first significant aid shipment to Gaza since the ceasefire began. The shipment, which includes 871 tons of essential supplies, was received by Egyptian Red Crescent teams for distribution to Gaza.

The cargo consists of 300 power generators, 20 portable toilets, 10,460 tents, and 14,350 blankets, aiming to provide much-needed shelter and support to displaced Palestinians.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya expressed the nation's commitment to supporting Gaza's recovery, stating, "We are prepared to heal the wounds of our Gazan brothers and sisters."

The arrival of the aid is a crucial step, as the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has opened limited access for humanitarian support. Since the truce began, hundreds of truckloads of supplies have entered Gaza, while others have been airlifted.

The ceasefire came after over 15 months of conflict triggered by Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
