Former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa insists he remains the Speaker despite his removal.

Mojisola Meranda has officially assumed office as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

She moved into the Speaker’s office at the Assembly Complex, accompanied by members of the State Assembly. A prayer session was held for her and the members, emphasizing unity and smooth leadership.

Meranda adjourned today’s plenary to a later date as part of the new leadership's arrangements.

Meanwhile, former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, removed on January 13, 2025, over allegations of misconduct and financial misappropriation, maintained on Saturday that he remains the Speaker until due process is followed.
