The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed its support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara's leadership in Rivers State.

A delegation of NWC members, including National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba, met with Governor Fubara at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Wednesday night.

National Treasurer Ahmed Mohammed, who spoke after the meeting, reiterated the NWC's commitment to Governor Fubara's leadership. He described the visit as part of efforts to realign the party and strategize for the 2027 elections.

Mohammed emphasized the need for party unity, stability, and effective repositioning in Rivers State. He also expressed the NWC's support for Ude Okoye, who was recently reinstated as National Secretary by the Court of Appeal.

The visit comes amid internal party crises in Rivers State, including a recent court ruling that nullified the party's congresses. However, the NWC's endorsement is seen as a significant boost to Governor Fubara's leadership.

The PDP has been working to resolve its internal conflicts and reposition itself for future elections. The NWC's visit to Governor Fubara is part of these efforts, aimed at fostering unity and stability within the party.
