Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) visited Governor Siminalayi Fubara at the Government House in Port Harcourt, reaffirming his leadership in Rivers State. The delegation, led by PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba, also included National Treasurer Ahmed Mohammed, who emphasized the importance of unity and strategizing for the party's comeback in the 2027 elections.
The NWC members expressed their support for the recent court ruling that nullified the party’s congresses in Rivers State and reiterated their commitment to stabilizing the party. Mohammed also voiced backing for Ude Okoye, the party’s National Secretary, following his reinstatement by the Court of Appeal.
This visit follows similar efforts by PDP Youth Leaders to resolve internal party conflicts and strengthen Fubara’s leadership amid the turmoil caused by the court ruling. The nullification of the congresses, which were backed by allies of former Governor Nyesom Wike, has led to the formation of an interim committee to oversee the party in Rivers.
