Three Dead in Ibadan Gas Tanker Explosion — Oyo Fire Service Confirms

The Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Mr. Maroof Akinwande, has confirmed that three people died in a gas explosion at Idi-Iroko, Amuloko area of Ibadan. The incident occurred on Friday evening when a tanker loaded with 15 tonnes of LPG exploded while transferring gas into a skid tank.

According to Akinwande, the agency received a distress call at 7:40 p.m. and immediately deployed personnel to the scene. The blast damaged two shops and a residential building. The bodies of the victims have been handed over to officers from the Akanran Police Division.

He added that the operation was supported by firefighters from the Federal Fire Service, Ibadan Command.
