The Lagos State Government has dismissed a viral security alert claiming a rise in kidnappings along the Gbagada Expressway, calling it fake, recycled misinformation intended to cause panic. Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, debunked the message on X, urging the public to ignore it. The Lagos Police Command also reaffirmed that it never issued such an alert, noting the same false advisory had resurfaced repeatedly since January 2024.
