FCT High Court To Receive 50 Units Of Duplexes Before June 2026 — Wike
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced that the Federal Government will provide 50 duplexes to the FCT High Court before June 2026 to address accommodation challenges facing judges.
Speaking at the commissioning of a magistrates’ court in Abuja on Tuesday, Wike said President Bola Tinubu remained committed to the welfare of justices, adding that the intervention would solve 80% of their housing problems.
According to him, 20 units will be handed over in October 2025, while the remaining 30 units will be delivered in June 2026.
He described as worrisome the fact that many judges live as tenants at the mercy of landlords, sometimes in unsafe areas where they coexist with criminals whose cases they handle.
“Mr President has said that this has to stop,” Wike stated.
