YOUR PROMOTION IS BORN FROM TRUST, CHERISH IT WITH ALL YOU HAVE... says Major General GM Mutkut
The Commander Infantry Corps Major General Godwin Mutkut has said that promotion to next higher rank in the Nigerian Army is born out of trust and confidence and enjoined the newly promoted senior officers to cherish and protect it with all they have. He made this assertion during the decoration ceremony of the Lieutenant Colonels to Colonels at Depot Nigerian Army Zaria today 9 Dec 2026 at the Buffalo Officers Mess, where he was the Special Guest of Honour.
He added that their promotion to Colonel places them at the strategic level of the organisation and as such must live up to the expectations and trust imposed on them. He went further to say they should be ready to make sacrifices for our motherland which they have been called to serve. He added that while some people are better placed as servants, others as leaders but a true leader is one who combines the attributes of a leader and a sevant.
Speaking earlier in the investiture ceremony, the Commandant Depot Nigerian Army Zaria, Major General AB Mohammed said that the promotion of the two senior officers was well merited as they have shown exceptional qualities during the time he has worked with them and enjoined them to keep up the good work
Highlights of the events were the decoration of the the two newly promoted Colonels with their new ranks and group photographs with their families, friends and well wishers.
