Bandits believed to be kidnappers have released Pastor Samson Ndah Ali of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), who was abducted in Mararaba Aboro, located in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
However, the kidnappers held Yusuf Shehu Ambi, the man who had been sent to deliver the ransom for the pastor’s release.
Ambi, who serves as the financial secretary for ECWA in the Mararaba Aboro community, was reportedly carrying a substantial sum of money intended to secure Pastor Ali’s freedom when the bandits detained him. The kidnappers allegedly demanded more money or other concessions for Ambi’s release.
Pastor Ali was taken from his home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, just two weeks after his assignment to the church. Initially, the kidnappers had set the ransom for his release at N100 million.
Although Kaduna State police authorities have not yet confirmed the abduction or the release of Pastor Ali, a community source informed Channels Television that Ambi was detained by the kidnappers while attempting to deliver the ransom.
