FG Increases Corps Members’ Allowance to ₦77,000 Monthly

In a significant boost for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, the Federal Government has announced an increase in their monthly allowance from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000, effective from July 2024. This decision aligns with the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024, aimed at enhancing the welfare of corps members.

Caroline Embu, NYSC spokesperson, expressed gratitude for the government's timely action, emphasizing its potential to uplift the morale of corps members and motivate them in their service to the nation. This increase follows a prior adjustment in 2020, when allowances rose from ₦19,800 to ₦33,000 after the national minimum wage was set at ₦30,000.
