The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has established a committee to address the ongoing dispute over the position of National Secretary, which is currently under legal consideration.

Samuel Anyanwu and Udeh Okoye are both claiming the position, and the matter is now before the courts. The dispute escalated when their supporters clashed at the PDP secretariat on Wednesday during a BoT meeting.

Following the meeting, BoT Chairman Adolphus Wabara announced the formation of a committee to resolve the issue. The committee will be led by Barrister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, and will engage with the parties involved, review the situation, and report back to the BoT for further action.

Wabara also noted that the Acting Chairman of the party, Umar Damagum, assured the BoT that the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting will proceed as planned in February 2025, aiming to address critical issues and reaffirm the party's unity, discipline, and shared ideals.

The BoT meeting was chaired by Adolphus Wabara and attended by key party figures, including Umar Damagum, former Niger Governor Babangida Aliyu, former Kaduna Governor Ahmed Makarfi, and former Jigawa Governor Sule Lamido.
