Kano Anti-Graft Agency Vows to Pursue Ganduje’s Prosecution. Read more...

The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has reaffirmed its commitment to prosecuting Abdullahi Ganduje, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman and former Kano State governor, over allegations of bribery, misappropriation, and diversion of public funds.

Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Monday, PCACC Chairman Muhuyi Rimingado declared that the case against Ganduje would proceed without hesitation, despite the challenges he has faced.

Rimingado stated, “Yes, we are prosecuting him in person. This investigation began in 2021, and although I faced numerous obstacles, including arrest, detention, and assault, I resumed the case immediately upon my return. This is not about witch-hunting anyone.”

The charges against Ganduje stem from an eight-count case filed by the Kano State Government, involving allegations of bribery, public fund misappropriation, and diversion of funds worth billions of naira. Alongside Ganduje, co-defendants include his wife, Hafsat Umar, and others: Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited, and Lasage General Enterprises Limited.

A Kano State High Court has adjourned the hearing of preliminary objections in the case to February 13, 2025.

Despite the ongoing legal battle, President Bola Tinubu recently appointed Ganduje as the board chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

Rimingado emphasized that the anti-corruption agency remains undeterred and focused on delivering justice in its fight against corruption.
