Former FCT Minister Jeremiah Useni Passes Away at 82

Retired Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni, former FCT Minister and Nigerian Army officer, has passed away at 82.

 

Retired Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Quartermaster General of the Nigerian Army, has passed away. He died on Thursday at the age of 82 after battling a protracted illness.

The news of his death was announced in a statement by Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang.

Governor Mutfwang described Useni’s passing as a significant loss not only to his family but also to the Nigerian Armed Forces, Plateau State, and the entire nation. He praised the late general’s remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s security and political landscape, particularly his dedication to promoting peace and security in Northern Nigeria and Plateau State.

The governor extended his condolences to the family and prayed for God’s strength and comfort during this difficult time, while acknowledging the indelible legacy left by the late army general.
