Folashade Odumosu, the wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has been successfully rescued by the Nigeria Police Force. The rescue operation took place on Wednesday, following her abduction the previous week.

Folashade was kidnapped on Thursday at the entrance of her home in the Arepo area, Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. She was dragged from her Lexus SUV and taken through a swampy route to an undisclosed location.

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, led the operation that resulted in her safe return. During the rescue, the kidnappers were neutralized, and the ransom that had been paid to secure her release was recovered. However, the police have not disclosed the ransom amount or the exact location of the rescue.

Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the operation, and also stated that the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, had commended the police officers involved for their efforts.

The police have reiterated their commitment to protecting citizens and upholding the law, following the successful rescue of the retired AIG's wife.
