The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced that it will conduct an online auction of forfeited vehicles on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The auction is part of the EFCC's efforts to dispose of assets recovered through its anti-corruption initiatives.

The online auction will feature 16 lots, with auctioneers in Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Sokoto, Kaduna, Lagos, and Kano states overseeing the sale. The vehicles available for auction include cars, trucks, and other forfeited assets that were seized in connection with financial crimes and other illicit activities.

According to the EFCC, the auction will be conducted in compliance with the EFCC (Establishment) Act of 2004, the Public Procurement Act of 2007, and the Proceeds of Crime (Recovery & Management) Act of 2022. The commission has encouraged interested buyers to visit the official web addresses for each lot to learn more about the available vehicles and participate in the auction process.

The move to hold an online auction aims to increase public accessibility and ensure a transparent and fair process for the disposal of forfeited assets. The proceeds from the auction will be directed towards government programs and initiatives as per the commission's mandate.
