Nigeria in Crisis: How APC’s Leadership Has Made Things Worse
For years,

Nigerians placed their hopes in the All Progressives Congress (APC), believing in promises of change, economic growth, and national security. Instead, under Muhammadu Buhari and now Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the country has faced economic hardship, rising insecurity, and declining living standards.

1. Economic Hardship: Naira at Historic Lows
Under Buhari, the naira collapsed from ₦197/$1 in 2015 to over ₦750/$1 before he left office. Today, under Tinubu, it has fallen further, reaching ₦1,610/$1 in the parallel market. This means higher prices for food, fuel, and essential goods, pushing millions into poverty.

2. Fuel Subsidy Removal Without a Safety Net
Tinubu’s abrupt removal of the fuel subsidy sent fuel prices soaring from ₦185 per liter to over ₦650, leading to higher transportation costs and food inflation. The government promised palliatives, but many Nigerians are yet to feel any relief.

3. Insecurity and Banditry Still Worsening
Under Buhari, Nigeria became one of the most dangerous places in the world, with bandits, Boko Haram, and kidnappers terrorizing communities. Under Tinubu, killings, abductions, and attacks have continued unchecked, with terrorists even demanding ransoms from helpless citizens.

4. High Unemployment and Job Losses
Despite promises of job creation, youth unemployment remains at crisis levels, with graduates and skilled workers leaving Nigeria in droves (Japa trend) to escape the harsh economic reality.

5. Health and Education at Risk as International Aid Declines
With the U.S. pausing global funding for health and education projects, millions of Nigerians relying on HIV/AIDS treatment and school programs could suffer. Yet, the APC-led government has no clear plan to cushion the impact.

6. Political Oppression and Broken Democracy
From election irregularities to suppression of opposition voices, APC has weakened democracy instead of strengthening it. Nigerians are losing trust in the electoral system, feeling that their votes no longer count.

The Verdict: APC Has Failed Nigerians
Under Buhari, things got worse. Under Tinubu, they continue to deteriorate. Prices are rising, insecurity is deepening, and life is becoming unbearable for ordinary citizens. How much more suffering can Nigerians take?

It’s time to hold APC accountable. Nigeria deserves better.
