  • We Want To Warn Sowore & His Group To Stay Away From Lagos Or Face The Full Weight Of The Law–Police.

The Lagos State Police Command has cautioned activist and political campaigner Omoyele Sowore, along with his supporters, against holding any form of protest in the state over the recent demolition of buildings in the Oworonshoki area.

The command described any attempt to mobilize demonstrations as a direct threat to public peace and warned that such actions would be met with firm resistance.

According to a report by Daily Post on Monday, October 27, 2025, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, issued the warning while addressing journalists at Iyana-Oworo, near the Third Mainland Bridge one of Lagos’s busiest transport corridors.

Jimoh said intelligence reports received by the command indicated that certain groups were planning to stage demonstrations to protest the state government’s demolition exercise in Oworonshoki.

The police chief stressed that the command would not tolerate any public gathering that could obstruct traffic, disrupt daily activities, or escalate into violence.

“We want to warn Sowore and his group to stay away from Lagos or face the full weight of the law,” Jimoh declared. “No individual or group will be allowed to endanger public safety or disrupt the peace we are working hard to maintain.”

The commissioner announced that the command had already deployed a significant number of officers to strategic locations across the city, including Ojota, Maryland, Gani Fawehinmi Park, Gbagada, Bariga, and Lekki Toll Gate, as part of a proactive effort to forestall any unauthorized protest.

He emphasized that the Third Mainland Bridge, a critical national infrastructure linking the Lagos mainland to the island, would be heavily guarded to prevent any attempt to occupy or block it.

  • Madagascar Strips Ousted President Rajoelina of Citizenship.

Madagascar’s new government has revoked the citizenship of ousted President Andry Rajoelina, according to media reports, just 10 days after he was removed from power in a military takeover.

A decree published in the country’s official gazette on Friday stated that Rajoelina’s Malagasy nationality was withdrawn because he had acquired French citizenship in 2014.

The decision, confirmed by French broadcaster RFI through the entourage of the new Prime Minister, Herintsalama Rajaonarivelo, was made in accordance with laws stipulating that any Malagasy who voluntarily obtains another nationality automatically loses their own.

The decree effectively bars Rajoelina, who was impeached on October 14 after fleeing the country amid weeks of anti-government protests, from contesting future elections.

Rajoelina’s dual nationality first sparked controversy ahead of the November 2023 elections, nearly a decade after his French citizenship was revealed.

The revelation led to calls for his disqualification, but he ultimately won the disputed polls, which were boycotted by opposition parties.

The 51-year-old fled Madagascar after Colonel Michael Randrianirina, head of the CAPSAT army unit, announced on October 11 that his troops would not obey orders to suppress youth-led demonstrations that security forces had attempted to quell violently.

Rajoelina later said he went into hiding for his safety but did not disclose his location. Colonel Randrianirina was sworn in as president on October 14, promising to hold elections within two years.

  • Obasanjo Finally Reveals Why He Rejected El-Rufai as His Successor in 2007.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has opened up on why he refused to choose former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, as his preferred successor when he was leaving office in 2007.

Speaking at the second edition of the Ajibosin Platform Annual Symposium held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Obasanjo disclosed that El-Rufai was one of his trusted aides during his administration.

However, he turned down the suggestion to make him president because he believed the former FCT Minister was “not yet mature enough” to handle Nigeria’s leadership at the time.

According to Obasanjo, the idea was pushed to him towards the end of his administration, but he refused to yield, insisting that El-Rufai still had a lot to learn before being ready for such responsibility.

The former president made the revelation while reacting to a speech by former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, who delivered the keynote address at the event.

Chidoka had recalled how El-Rufai introduced him to Obasanjo at age 34; a meeting that later led to his appointment as the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

Interrupting Chidoka’s remarks, Obasanjo said with a smile, “Let him tell you. He didn’t mention that when I was leaving government, he was pushing that his friend, El-Rufai, should be brought in as my successor.” Turning to Chidoka, he added jokingly, “No be so?” to which Chidoka nodded in agreement.

Obasanjo continued, “I did not yield to the pressure. Later, he asked why I didn’t agree, and I told him El-Rufai needed to mature. Many years later, after seeing his performance, he came back to me and said, ‘You were absolutely correct — El-Rufai needed to mature.’”

The Gombe State Government has confirmed the death of the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Col. Abdullahi Bello (rtd), in a car accident on Friday.

The incident occurred along the Malam Sidi–Gombe road as the retired officer was returning from Maiduguri, Borno State, where he had attended the North-East Regional Consultation on the Development of a National Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) programme.

According to a statement by the governor’s media aide, Isma’ila Uba Misilli, the commissioner’s police orderly, Sergeant Adamu Hussaini, also died in the crash, while his driver sustained injuries and is receiving treatment.

Reacting to the news, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya described the late commissioner as a disciplined officer and dedicated public servant who brought his military expertise to the service of Gombe State.

“Col. Abdullahi Bello (rtd) will be remembered as a pillar of discipline, courage, and selfless service. He carried out his duties with unmatched diligence and a deep sense of responsibility. His demise is a monumental loss not only to his family and our government, but to Gombe State and Nigeria at large,” Yahaya stated.

  • Diddy reportedly attacked in prison after inmate held a knife to his throat.

One of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ close friends has spoken out about a frightening incident inside MDC Brooklyn, where the music mogul is currently serving time.

According to Charlucci Finney, Diddy woke up one night to find a knife pressed against his throat — a moment that could easily have ended in tragedy. Finney told Daily Mail that he isn’t sure whether guards intervened or if Diddy managed to fend off the attacker himself, but confirmed it was a very close call.

Sources familiar with the situation also verified the account to TMZ, describing it as a targeted intimidation attempt against Diddy. Finney said he believes the motive was to scare him, adding that prison is especially dangerous for inmates with sex-related convictions.

During Diddy’s sentencing, his lawyer Brian Steel mentioned the same incident, stating that a guard stopped the inmate before any serious harm was done.

Diddy is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted on two counts of violating the Mann Act, which involves the transportation of individuals across state lines for unlawful purposes. He was, however, acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Meanwhile, reports claim that former U.S. President Donald Trump is considering pardoning Diddy — though the White House Communications Office has denied those claims, TMZ insists their sources stand by the story.

Prison consultant Sam Mangel, who spoke on TMZ Live, said Diddy’s next prison is expected to be less violent than MDC Brooklyn. Still, he warned that incidents like this show why the rapper must remain alert.

For now, Diddy’s safety remains a concern among his inner circle, with Finney describing the experience as “terrifying” and a stark reminder of how quickly things can turn inside prison walls.

  • Pregnant Woman, Nine Others Killed as Cement-Laden Truck Crashes in Akungba, Ondo State.

Ten persons, including a pregnant woman, have been confirmed dead in a fatal auto crash at Akungba-Akoko in Ondo State.

Witnesses said the crash occurred when a truck carrying bags of cement lost control along the Owo–Akungba–Ikare Expressway and rammed into roadside shops, killing several people instantly.

A resident said, “The driver lost control and swerved into the shops. We can’t tell how many people are still trapped under the truck.”

Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ondo State, Samuel Ibitoye, confirmed the accident, stating that the truck ran into a barricade near Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, before crashing. “No fewer than eight people died — five males, two females, and one male child,” he said.

Ibitoye advised motorists to always ensure their vehicles are roadworthy and to obey traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies.

Reacting to the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Adekunle Ajasin University Students’ Union Government (SUG), Akinibobola Ajidagba, said the truck, allegedly belonging to the Dangote Group, suffered brake failure while descending from Ikare. It reportedly destroyed a permanent barricade at the university’s main gate before the crash.

“As it stands, close to ten people have lost their lives,” Ajidagba said, lamenting that repeated appeals to restrict heavy-duty trucks from plying Akungba roads had been ignored. “We remain resolute in this struggle. Students are urged to stay calm, maintain peace, and keep off the highway for now,” he added.

The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the government hospital morgue in Akungba.

Police authorities have yet to officially comment, but an officer described the accident as “pathetic.”

  • Tragedy as Dangote truck crushes pregnant woman, child, six others in Ondo.

A pregnant woman, mother and her child on Wednesday night lost their lives alongside six others in a fatal road crash that occurred in the university community of Akungba-Akoko, Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State involving a cement-laden truck.

The horrifying accident occurred around 8:00 pm, a few metres from the main gate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), and the popular Holy Trinity Church.

The articulated truck, which was in transit through the community from Obajana in Kogi State and allegedly belonging to Dangote Cement, had allegedly suffered brake failure before ramming into traders and other road users in the densely populated area of the community.

Infuriated by the incident, enraged sympathisers blamed that accident on the removal of the barricade earlier mounted to prevent articulated vehicles from accessing the community.

The sympathisers, who thronged the accident scene, lamented that the tragedy has brought back painful memories of previous accidents in the area, which have claimed many lives over the years.

According to one of the sources, “Some boys in the community had been using the barricade erected to extort N10,000 from the truck drivers before allowing them to pass through. The government turned blind eyes.”

While confirming the incident, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in the state, Ibitoye, stated eight people lost their lives in the accident.

He said, “The deceased persons include five males, two females and one child. The truck ran into a barricade in front of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, and lost control, resulting in the crash.”

  • NANS Calls for Mandatory Drug Testing in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called on the Federal Government to introduce compulsory drug testing for all students in tertiary institutions as part of efforts to tackle rising substance abuse among youths.

In a statement signed by Comrade Olushola Oladoja, NANS President, the association proposed a drug-Free Campus Initiative (DFCI) to promote discipline, improve academic performance, and protect Nigeria’s future workforce.

Oladoja described drug abuse among students as a “public health crisis” threatening learning, moral integrity, and national productivity.

“Drug abuse among students is no longer an isolated concern; it has evolved into a public health crisis affecting learning, safety, and national productivity,” NANS stated.

The association identified marijuana, tramadol, codeine, and methamphetamine (mkpurummiri) as the most abused substances, linking them to cultism, assault, and campus unrest.

“Most cases of cultism, aault, and campus unrest are traceable to substance influence. Drug abuse fuels aggression and moral decay among students,”
    the group added.

NANS recommended mandatory drug testing at both admission and graduation points, supervised by the NDLEA and school health units, to ensure students “enter and leave the system clean.” It also proposed establishing drug-Free Clubs on all campuses and integrating drug education into orientation and General Studies courses.

Students identified with substance use, the group said, should receive rehabilitation and counselling rather than stigma.

Oladoja warned that unchecked drug abuse endangers Nigeria’s development and leadership future.
“The dream of a prosperous Nigeria begins with a generation of mentally sound, morally upright, and drug-free students,”

he stated, urging collective action among the Ministry of Education, NDLEA, and student unions to secure the nation’s campuses.

  • Police Deny Shooting Sowore, Others During Protest In Abuja.

The Nigeria Police Force has denied claims that its operatives fired live bullets at protesters in Abuja during the #FreeNnamdiKanu demonstration led by activist and publisher, Omoyele Sowore on Monday.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said it was only teargas that was fired.

He added that people who are not familiar with the sound can mistake the firing of teargas for live ammunition as both make the same popping, explosion-like sound.

Hundeyin, who spoke on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday night, added that the Police only fired tear gas after the protesters refused to leave the areas where the court had already prohibited their demonstrations.

“I can say it authoritatively that no live ammunition was fired today. Not a single live ammunition.

“It is easy for people who are not familiar with the sound to mistake the firing of teargas for live ammunition. It makes the same popping, explosion-like sound. I can say it on good authority that no live ammunition was shot.

“We made it clear that we were going to enforce this court order. We gave enough warning to these people to step back and not go beyond where they were, but they were adamant and they were approaching these areas,” he said.

The Force PRO added that the officers acted within the provisions of the law and established procedures to ensure public safety.

  • She wasn’t like this – Senator Nwoko finally opens up, accuses Regina Daniels of drug abuse.

Senator Ned Nwoko has accused his actress wife, Regina Daniels, of engaging in drug and alcohol abuse, alleging that her actions have led to violence and destruction in their home.

The lawmaker made the claims in a Facebook post on Sunday titled “REGINA’S UNPROVOKED CARNAGE AND RAMPAGE IN MY HOUSE AND IN MY ABSENCE.”

According to Nwoko, Regina’s alleged struggle with substance abuse is the root of their marital problems.

He stated that she must continue her rehabilitation program either in Asokoro or abroad, particularly in Jordan, where he believes she would not have access to drugs.

The senator expressed fear for her safety if she failed to continue treatment, saying her current environment allows “unrestricted access to drugs.”

Nwoko further alleged that Regina had recently assaulted three members of his staff and destroyed property, including vehicles and windows, without provocation.

He claimed that while he took their son, Moon, to the hospital, chaos erupted at home, allegedly instigated by one of Regina’s supposed drug suppliers. He also accused her of threatening to kill a resident nurse for revealing her drug use.

The post read: “REGINA’S UNPROVOKED CARNAGE AND RAMPAGE IN MY HOUSE AND IN MY ABSENCE,” Nwoko said: “Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety. Now she has moved to a place where she will have unrestricted access to drugs. I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here, slapping and hitting 3 staff in the past 48 hours and destroying property, including cars and windows, for no just cause. The truth is, I have set a clear condition for her to accept rehab in Asokoro or outside Nigeria especially Jordan where she will not have access to drugs. A clear headed regina would have taken moon to the hospital but instead she even threatened to kill our resident nurse(for exposing her drugs abuse). While I took Moon to the hospital, a scene of chaos unfolded at home, orchestrated by Sammy, Regina’s main drug supplier. Another known supplier of drugs to Regina is the tiny evil devil called Ann.”

Responding to the claims in a statement on Friday, the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, defended the actions of the KAI operatives, stating that the actress’s activity violated state environmental regulations.

Wahab explained that while the government appreciates citizens who engage in charitable and community-support initiatives, such activities must comply with Lagos State’s environmental and sanitation laws.

“The individual in question claimed to be conducting charitable cooking activities on the road median, which unfortunately contravened existing environmental and sanitation regulations,

“The Lagos State Government deeply appreciates the spirit of philanthropy and community support demonstrated by many residents, but such initiatives must be carried out in compliance with the state’s extant laws to ensure public safety, environmental protection, and urban order.” Wahab said in a statement.

The commissioner added that the enforcement was necessary to prevent potential safety hazards and traffic disruptions, urging residents to obtain proper authorization before carrying out similar public activities.

  • Madagascar suspended from African Union as military colonel declares himself leader following Gen Z–led protests.

The African Union (AU) has suspended Madagascar after a military coup ousted President Andry Rajoelina. The AU said the suspension would remain “until constitutional order is restored.”

Colonel Michael Randrianirina, head of an elite army unit, declared himself interim president and said the military would rule for up to two years before holding elections. “We are staying for at least 18 months, at most two years,” he told the Associated Press.

The coup followed weeks of youth-led protests under the “Gen Z Madagascar” movement, demanding better governance and access to basic services. Randrianirina claimed he took power at the request of the High Constitutional Court after Rajoelina fled “for safety reasons.”

He announced the appointment of a prime minister and the dissolution of most institutions, except the lower house of parliament, to form a transitional government.

Rajoelina, who has been in power since 2018, condemned the takeover as an “illegal coup.” Randrianirina, once his ally, had been arrested in 2023 for inciting mutiny and released with a suspended sentence the following year.

Crowds in Antananarivo reacted with both celebration and fear of instability. Analysts criticised the move, calling it a civil movement hijacked by the army.

France’s President Emmanuel Macron denied aiding Rajoelina’s escape but expressed “deep concern” and reaffirmed France’s support for Madagascar’s people.

The island nation has suffered repeated coups since 1960, struggling with poverty and corruption its GDP per capita has halved, and its corruption ranking has fallen to 140th globally.

  • Senator Orji Uzor Kalu Alleges Some Nigerian Pilots Smoke Indian Hemp Before Flights, Calls for Urgent Regulatory Action.

Former Abia State governor and Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, has sparked concern over alleged drug use among Nigerian pilots, claiming that some smoke Indian hemp before flying passengers.

Speaking during Wednesday’s plenary session, Kalu urged aviation regulators to take immediate action to safeguard travelers, accusing agencies of negligence and poor oversight.
“The agencies overseeing these pilots are not doing enough. I’ve personally refused to board a flight because the pilot didn’t seem normal. Some of them smoke Indian hemp yes, it’s true,” he said.

He faulted aviation authorities such as the NCAA and NEMA for failing to conduct proper medical and drug assessments. “Pilots walk into the cockpit without anyone checking their blood pressure or drug level. There’s no on-the-spot testing. It’s dangerous,” he warned.

Kalu recounted once stopping a flight over concerns about a pilot’s condition and urged the Minister of Aviation to step up supervision. “Some take Indian hemp like cigarettes. If you go close, you can smell it,” he alleged.

His remarks come weeks after the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) reportedly said two Air Peace pilots tested positive for alcoqAzqdqazqhol and cannabis following a July 2025 runway incident at Port Harcourt International Airport.

Air Peace, however, dismissed the claim, saying no crew member tested positive and that the airline enforces a zero-tolerance policy on substance use. “Our crew were tested within an hour, and all results were negative,” the airline stated.
