The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 35 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Auchi, Edo State.
The arrests were carried out in multiple locations across the town, including Vigilante Street, off Sabo Ibenafo Road, and the Back of Yak area, following credible intelligence linking the suspects to cybercrime activities.
During the operation, EFCC operatives recovered various items believed to be proceeds of fraudulent activities. These include:
- Nine vehicles
- Eleven laptop computers
- Forty-six mobile phones
- Two smartwatches
The anti-graft agency confirmed that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
